Maps: Finding Our Place in the World
March 16–June 8, 2008
Opening March 16, Maps: Finding Our Place in the World is a fascinating exploration of the art of maps and mapping, with works by artists, statesmen, and explorers from Leonardo da Vinci and Thomas Jefferson to Hernan Cortes.
Mapping the Cosmos: Images from the Hubble Space Telescope
February 2–July 27, 2008
Mapping the Cosmos: Images from the Hubble Space Telescope features pictures that are as beautiful and awe-inspiring as they are scientifically momentous. The exhibition will encourage visitors to consider how these images shape our understanding of the universe.
Maps on Purpose
March 1–June 8, 2008
Maps on Purpose features maps created by residents of multiple Baltimore city neighborhoods. Residents mapped such things as community treasures, visions for change, and how people travel within their neighborhood.
Beyond the Compass, Beyond the Square
March 29–May 20, 2008
Beyond the Compass, Beyond the Square, installed in Mt. Vernon Place, is a site-specific exhibition created and curated by students from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
