NEW MUSEUM HOURS AT THE WALTERS BEGINNING JULY 2 Extended Hours Pave Way for Brand-New First Fridays Series Baltimore—Beginning Wednesday, July 2, the Walters Art Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and will no longer be open late every Friday night. Instead, the Walters is launching an exciting free new series—First Fridays—which will take place from October–June on the first Friday evening of each of these months. The inaugural First Friday event will take place on Oct. 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be no events from July to September each year. First Fridays will be stylish gatherings with live entertainment, tours, demonstrations, light snacks and a cash bar featuring a signature cocktail. It will be the place to see and be seen before heading home from work or going out for a night on the town. The Walters Art Museum is located in Baltimore’s historic Mount Vernon Cultural District at North Charles and Centre streets. Its permanent collection includes ancient art, medieval art and manuscripts, decorative objects, Asian art and Old Master and 19th-century paintings.
