WALTERS ART MUSEUM ANNOUNCES NEW FIRST FRIDAYS SERIES STARTING OCT. 3

Baltimore—The newest hot spot on the Baltimore entertainment scene is the Walters Art Museum’s First Fridays series. Starting Friday, Oct. 3, the Walters will host stylish gatherings every first Friday of the month from October through June. And best of all—it’s free!

First Fridays will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. and feature live entertainment, music, activities, light snacks and a cash bar. Each event will have a special theme relating to the Walters’ collections and special exhibitions. As the place to see and be seen before you head home from work or out for a night on the town, First Fridays will delight the senses and entertain the soul.

The inaugural First Fridays theme will be The Ancient World. Join us as we celebrate the cultures of ancient Persia, Rome, Greece, Egypt and more with delicious Mediterranean food from Cazbar, fusion/world music by DJ Ben-Hur from Washington, D.C., lively belly dance performances and tours of the Walters’ Ancient World galleries. The entrance for this special event will be at 600 North Charles Street.  Promotional support for November First Fridays is provided by STYLE Magazine and for December by The Baltimore Examiner.

Upcoming First Fridays:
Nov. 7: Bedazzled (includes free admission to the special exhibition Bedazzled—an $8 value)
Dec. 5: It’s Summer Somewhere
Jan. 2: Ethiopian New Year

The Walters is located in Baltimore’s historic Mount Vernon Cultural District at North Charles and Centre streets. Its permanent collection includes ancient art, medieval art and manuscripts, decorative objects, Asian art and Old Master and 19th-century paintings. Peabody Court is the official hotel of the Walters Art Museum. For hotel reservations, call 1-800-292-5500.
